Shirley and John came and stayed at Torch Trust for the Blind for a while - with Shirley in the tape library and John preparing hundreds of giant print books for the overseas libraries that I had set up.

When my daughter got married over 25 years ago, Shirley lent me a dress for the wedding. Such was her love and friendship.

Shirley met Lapson Mbewe from Malawi, Africa when he came to England and they struck up a friendship.

When I retired from Torch , I concentrated on supporting Lapsons ministry,  Shirley decided to pray and support Lapson and did so faithfully for a number of years. Her prayers have seen much blessing in the lives of the poorest of the poor.

She had a heart of love and compassion.

She will be missed greatly. Lapson sends his greetings, and thanks for Shirley and all she has done to share the love of Jesus.
