In honour of Shirley’s life, and in place of flowers, we invite you to make a donation that will be shared equally between two causes close to our hearts – Torch Trust for the Blind and Alzheimer’s Society UK.
Shirley’s journey with Alzheimer’s was marked by courage, dignity, and deep faith. Alzheimer’s is a cruel and distressing disease – robbing memory, independence, and connection – not only for the person affected but also for their loved ones. We have witnessed first-hand the challenges it brings, and we long to see a day when it can be prevented, treated, or cured.
Shirley and John dedicated a huge amount of time and energy to helping Torch Trust for the Blind over the years. We would love to send a gift in memory of Shirley to embolden their Christian ministry to people with sight impairments.
By supporting these charities, we can help others walking these difficult roads and make a real difference to peoples’ lives.
Torch Trust is a Christian charity dedicated to providing resources, fellowship, and practical support for people with sight loss. They produce accessible Christian literature, audio books, and Bibles in formats such as braille and large print, and run fellowship groups to combat loneliness and isolation. Their work ensures that those with sight loss can continue to grow in faith, enjoy meaningful friendships, and access the Word of God.

The Alzheimer’s Society works across England, Wales, and Northern Ireland to provide information, care, and support for people living with dementia and their families. They fund pioneering research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of dementia, and campaign for better public understanding and improved services. Their vision is a world without dementia – and every donation brings that vision closer.
